Christmas 2009 in Lapland

It will soon be Christmas and so it’s the right time to decide where you want to spend your festive break. We would suggest heading straight to the place which embodies the spirit of Christmas- the hometown of Santa himself- Lapland.

Take off on a holiday to Lapland and experience a truly beautiful winter. It is the perfect holiday destination for you and your loved ones. The snow covered landscape cuts a fine picture and offers you a number of exciting activities to participate in.

The adventurous ones can set their pulses soaring by racing down the snow covered slopes on a dog-sled or a snowmobile. As you cruise down the slope you can take a look at the beautiful snowscape dotted with pine trees turned white with snow. Watch out for the reindeers too as there are a large number of them around this region.

You could relax under a reindeer-skin blanket in the ice-hotel which in itself is a marvel to watch. The entire hotel is made of ice and every year it is designed uniquely. If you can, then brave the chill and go hiking but be armed with snowboots. Follow the bear trails to spot the grizzly brown bear or just enjoy the spectacular scenery of Lapland.

Get an adrenaline boost by going down the slopes on skis and the ski trails in Lapland cater to the beginner as well as the expert skiers. So get going guys…

While you are holidaying in Lapland, pray that you are lucky enough to spot the mystical Northern Lights. The amazing colorful display in the night sky is truly a sight to behold.

Santa and his elves are busy packing gifts for one and all and you can capture the festive spirit at the Santa Village. You will get a chance to be with Father Christmas and watch him spread cheer and happiness to all. You could even go on an exciting trail searching for Santa and his aides where the elves leave clues to help you find them.

Lapland promises to be the winter wonderland where your Christmas dreams can unfold. So give in and let Lapland weave its winter magic on you …
